Changes

I know my updating and rambling very sporadic lately, but I'm currently on a huge phase of changes that leave me no time or mental energy whatsoever. Promise that as soon as I'm done I'll try to get back to those usual ways where you wanted to get me a dose of lithium. For now, I leave you with old and new favorites. And my Rudolph nose.

Withdrawal Syndrome

Someone stole my phone on Tuesday. And on the gym's locker room, if you can believe it. Currently going through a very rough withdrawal syndrome. How come smartphones rule our life? Anxiety, anger. Someone hook me up with some data already!

Hats and sixes

I'm all for hats, as you probably can tell by now. Wearing them not only helps keep the doctor away but also covers the three sixes on my skull from the naked eye. Bah, taking care of my head... like I keep something in there. 

Me gustan los sombreros y gorros, como ya se habrán dado cuenta a estas alturas. Usarlos no solo previene gripes y evita visitas invernales al doctor, además sirve para ocultar los tres seises inscritos en mi cabeza. Aunque, bah. Cuidar mi cabeza, como si guardase algo ahí dentro.

Rudolph

It has been so windy and cold the past few days. The expected weather for this season. And with it I turn into a female version of Rudolph. My nose gets really red and runny. Needless to say, the last few shots of this outfit are painful to look at. Thank God for the wonderful colors. I just love mustard with bright tones like the ones on the scarf.

Han sido unos días muy fríos y con mucho viento, el clima esperado para esta época. Y con su llegada me convierto en una versión catastrófica de Rudolph. Nariz roja y mocosa. Si pudieran ver las últimas fotos de este look, todo un poema. Apenas podía subir la cabeza. Gracias al cielo por los colores tan bonitos, al menos para mi gusto, de este abrigo y bufanda. Para alegrar un poco el otoño.

Waterproof Mascara

Allergies are not being very kind to me, constantly numbing me up and testing the limits of my waterproof mascara. In the meantime, I stick to earthy tones.

Las alergias no están siendo muy generosas conmigo este año,  me ponen algo boba y testan el límite de mi mascara de pestañas. Por lo demás: tonos tierra que nunca fallan durante estos meses.

Old and girly

It's happened to me that over the years the necessity for getting dressed up all girly has decreased. Instead, I get attached to my comfy daily wear and happen to find it perfect for any occassion. More than a few might suggest that I could get arrested for wearing certain things, but that's the fun of getting dressed: it's between you and your conscience (and well, sometimes your mom). Given that I've turned into a couch potato the last few months - and thus burying my alter ego Christina Walters - when it comes time for a special event, I find it hard to get into the mood. And apparently on the day of these pictures I wanted to time travel and go all retro. What can I say, it just happened.

Me ha ocurrido que con los años la necesidad de vestirme ultra femenina ha ido bajando. Mientras, por el contrario, crece más y más el apego a la ropa cómoda. Lo peor es que la empiezo a ver apropiada para todo. Ya sé que alguno podría insinuar que me arresten por ponerme ciertas cosas, pero esa es la diversión de elegir un atuendo: está entre tú y tu conciencia (y bueno, a veces tu madre). Visto que llevo una racha de vaga que vegeta en el sofá en vez de salir - enterrando así a mi alter ego Christina Walters - cuando llega una ocasión especial, como por ejemplo, una cena, me cuesta entrar en la dinámica. Pues, aparentemente el día de estas fotos tenía intención de viajar en el tiempo. Qué decir, así salieron las cosas.

All nighter

Since I pulled an all-nighter watching the Oscars and the toll I'm gonna pay is gonna be high, I'm not elaborating today. Besides, few things are needed when you have breton stripes on your outfit. I predict it's gonna be a long week. 

Como me he trasnochado viendo los Oscars y voy a pagarlo muy caro, no elaboro nada en esta entrada. Total, poocas cosas se necesitan cuando hay rayas bretón en el look. Creo que será una semana muy larga.

A matter of opinion

I'm a very opinionated person. Actually, pain-in-the-ass opinionated. When I get something into my head, there's very little chance I'll change my mind. Blame it on my only child syndrome, I guess. It also applies with clothes. Sometimes I get stuff just for the hell of it, just out of mere stubbornness. It happened with these shoes, it happened with this jumper (more mustard)... it happens with men, hell, life in general. I wish a part of me knew how to count to ten. Oh well.

Last week of January. I can't believe how fast the month has gone by. Soon it'll be Christmas again. We've been having crazy weather lately, so I always carry an extra bundle just in case, like on the picture.

Soy una persona muy visceral con sus opiniones. De hecho, soy obstinada en un grado insoportable. Cuando me meto algo en la cabeza, hay pocas probabilidades de que cambie de opinión. No se, será por mi complejo de hija única. Lo mismo hago con la ropa. A veces elijo cosas solo porque sí, porque me da la gana, por pura obstinación. Me pasó con estos zapatos, me pasó con el jersey (más mostaza, Dios!)... me pasa con los amores, con la vida en general. Quisiera que una parte de mi supiera contar hasta diez. En fin.

La última semana de enero. No me creo lo rápido que se ha pasado el mes. Pronto estaremos de nuevo en Navidad. Hemos tenido un clima inestable últimamente, así que siempre llevo una prenda extra que me sirva de "arropo" en caso necesario.

Mustard, Ochre, whatever

Meet my new "ochre" coat. To me, it looked mustard online, but as it happens, it's "ochre". Same shit, different name. Whatever you want to call it, I dig it. A lot. With a sixties vibe included. It made me happy, like when I get a yellow Mentos, which, by the way, are very scarce lately... step it up, Mentos' people! My first try was going for similar colors and a very simple outfit. It's autumn-y in wintertime.  

Les presento mi nuevo abrigo "ocre". Pensaba cuando lo vi online que era mostaza, pero resulta que no, es "ocre". La misma vaina, en mi opinión. Como sea que se llame, me gusta. Y mucho. Incluyendo su estilo sesentero. Me hizo feliz, como cuando me toca un Mentos amarillo, los cuales por cierto, andan bastante escasos... a ver si los de Mentos se enteran. Mi primer intento fue combinarlo con colores tierra y ropa cómoda. Un look algo otoñal en pleno invierno.
