All things just keep getting better

A while ago when I lived back home I was sick and had to be in bed for a few weeks. It hit me really hard, since I'm always doing stuff and I don't like to feel impotent and tied up. I even got a little depressed. Until I found hope and laughter in the weirdest place: watching SpongeBob and "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" marathons. Back to back. I'm sure most of you know SpongeBob, but maybe a few don't know or remember the Fab Five. It was about these five gay guys who would go to a heterosexual slob's house and make over everything about him: his clothes, his hair, his decor, his culinary taste and oh, his "culture". (P.S.: The guy in charge of culture was such bullshit and did nothing). You can't imagine how much I enjoyed watching this show. I loved Carson and his over the top styles for the poor guy, who was in it almost always to please a bitchy girlfriend or wife. I remember that they always made over the guys' hair. Because, honestly, what is it about our hair that has such power? I've been sick of my color lately so without even blinking I went darker. I mess up and change my hair a lot, it gives me a sense of control over a world full of chaos. Don't ask, but I was so much meaner all afternoon. Oh well.

I love bicolored brogues. Mambo no. 5! Where is Lou Bega, anyhow?

¡Mambo no. 5! ¿Qué será de Lou Bega?

Oh my Jubilee!

We went to a really cool party on a garden square, unfortunately it was pouring and the festivities were a little ruined. However, it was amazing to see people dress up as old chaps. I actually used the clothes I had to make up something along the way and I was very much within character! Funny, me and my crazy stuff. It was really cold but you can always get warmer with Pimms, a huge burger and cake.

Choosing what to wear was a nightmare since weather was so unpredictable. And I didn't go shopping the first few days because I promised to stay out of the stores. Hell yeah, we all knew that wasn't gonna happen. East London, Brick Lane and WHAM. Also, on my last day I went to Oxford Street for a mandatory Primark stop, where I behaved a lot. But then I went to Forever 21, thinking that given it's been a long time since I was 21 I could feel safe. Big mistake. It turns out that they have a space inspired by a Thrift Shop (blame it on the Florence Welch phenomenon), to appeal a different crowd and have more "adult" pieces. Let's just say that I went crazy and will bore you a bit with this brand this summer. It was such a refreshing and great surprise. Unfortunately, after this, it was unthinkable to my personal finances to even set a foot on TopShop. Or anywhere else.

I'm glad to be back for delicious summer days, although I miss my siblings terribly. I promise to get some time to update this week, it has been a nightmare of work, emails and errands, but I'll get back on my feet soon. Also I know I have a lot of comments to answer, will get on it. Kisses

Besitos.

Yo *corazón* Santiago

A quick post of my walk in Santiago. We found this beautiful spot, I fell in love. I'm wearing a military jacket, a style I like very much - I think it goes back to the profound admiration for my father. Very simple, ideal to hang out and drink Ribeiro while snacking cockles. Denim on denim always works. Oh, and I just had to wear my new owl pendant. I know, I know, I keep repeating myself (repetitive, and redundant!) jaja, but like I've said before: I just love what I like.

The old black and brown

A few years ago if you would have asked me if I liked these two colors together the answer would have been simple and blunt: hell, no! And now, look at me.

God, I can't get enough of these shoes. I apologize for them being so dirty, they had just come home from Valencia's national holiday where they danced nonstop.

I love Galicia. Do I really have to leave?

Amo Galicia. ¿En serio tengo que irme?

Lilac Blossom

As it turns out, I'm leaving unexpectedly to spend a couple of days with friends, so I sort of had to improvise this post. Don't you just love those spur-of-the-moment events that later you can tell others  and have a hundred anecdotes? I hope I don't get the worst one (it's usually mine).

Wearing a comfy outfit, no fuzz. I wanted a cupcake so bad I can still taste it!

Happy long weekend to all!
