Milky Way Notes

As a little girl I used to dress up stuff to make them more girly. Over the top sometimes. The moment of choosing stickers for my notebooks... or my new pencil case, was of total concentration. I'd sparkle anything that came across me. It got stuck even after growing up. I remember going to college with a Hello Kitty pencil case (well, it was actually Keroppi) filled with tons of colored pens and weird looking accessories. I always managed to get great notes from lectures at class, and somehow at the same time I could pull off drawing dozens of stars all over each sheet. When it was time for a test I would get asked by my fellow classmates for these notes, and you'd see more than half the class studying with paper-copied dribbles similar to the Milky Way. Teachers would notice and ask ironically "Gee,  I wonder who did that". Sometimes I ask myself if that was a way of channeling my inner, crazy, slightly more creative alter ego. Serious business student meets crazy-coloring maniac. And it might sound like I was dumb, but I wasn't. But that's another story for another day. Remind me to tell you about my big, fluffy pink pen during my MBA year. Boy did that shock more than one.

The day we took these pictures the sky was literally falling with rain. I thought it wasn't gonna give a break, but suddenly in the mid-afternoon it stopped raining and the sun came out. Talk about crazy weather! Stuck with turquoise wellies.

Paint it black and peel it off

This time of year I wear more layers than an onion. The obvious ones, but also a few more that only I know. I'd rather go looking chubbier than be freezing. Oh, well. When in doubt, black. I don't have a lot of time, which sucks since I can't elaborate on any silly story. Boo. Happy Friday!

Bu. ¡Feliz viernes!

A hint of Tartan

We all know that this season tartan's really hot. Although to me, personally, it is always a must. There's no autumn/winter without it, as you all can tell from my outfits and my many scarves. A touch of tartan can really turn around any look, and I agree it's not always the easiest pattern to combine, but it just needs a little imagination. A few items to refresh this trend on your wardrobe. For now, I'm going to catch some rays, it's finally sunny!

Windy nightmare

The day I took these pictures it felt like hurricaine Sandy had made a comeback for Madrid. I was afraid I was going to get blown away. My hair started to resemble a longer Richard Simmons. Thank God I wasn't wearing a skirt or anything. Because that would have been very typical of me. I've showed my ass to half the city already. And I swear not on purpose. During summer, I've fallen flat twice trying to get my dress in place on a windy morning or afternoon. Talk about graceful. This one episode was an all time low: I'm walking minding my own business and there's a garbage truck full of workers nearby (if you're a girl you know what that means). As I'm rushing to avoid dirty compliments, a gush of wind takes my skirt up to my neck, giving the men the perfect shot of my bare ass on a yellow thong. True story. I know, why on earth would someone own a yellow thong, you might ask? Well, in my defense, it came with the pack of undies. And it was laundry day. The images and phrases of that episode still haunt me at night.

Another tartan scarf. Like I said on Instagram, they are like crack to me. But on the other hand, I haven't had a cold in weeks, and that's a record being me. Paired with this vintage coat that I love, I realize I'm forming a familiar pattern. But that's just how I roll.

No miento.
