Milky Way Notes

As a little girl I used to dress up stuff to make them more girly. Over the top sometimes. The moment of choosing stickers for my notebooks... or my new pencil case, was of total concentration. I'd sparkle anything that came across me. It got stuck even after growing up. I remember going to college with a Hello Kitty pencil case (well, it was actually Keroppi) filled with tons of colored pens and weird looking accessories. I always managed to get great notes from lectures at class, and somehow at the same time I could pull off drawing dozens of stars all over each sheet. When it was time for a test I would get asked by my fellow classmates for these notes, and you'd see more than half the class studying with paper-copied dribbles similar to the Milky Way. Teachers would notice and ask ironically "Gee,  I wonder who did that". Sometimes I ask myself if that was a way of channeling my inner, crazy, slightly more creative alter ego. Serious business student meets crazy-coloring maniac. And it might sound like I was dumb, but I wasn't. But that's another story for another day. Remind me to tell you about my big, fluffy pink pen during my MBA year. Boy did that shock more than one.

The day we took these pictures the sky was literally falling with rain. I thought it wasn't gonna give a break, but suddenly in the mid-afternoon it stopped raining and the sun came out. Talk about crazy weather! Stuck with turquoise wellies.

I'm singing in the rain

It's raining season! I know, this time of year can be a pain in the ass, but it doesn't mean you can't manage to get your "wet-groove" on and have fun with the elements. I don't know about the rest of you, but my unbreakable rule for rainy days is: be realistic, go weather-appropriate. I can't stand street style pictures with impossible outfits - especially shoes - for that type of weather. When it pours, I need to be dry and warm. With the exception of a wedding, I will not wear something other than boots or similar on a cold rainy day. But hey, that's just me.

Three looks, two very informal and one a little bit more polished, similar to what I like to wear on this season.

Rain

Wellies, jeans and a sweatshirt. And a nice scarf, always. My wellies are different, but I used these since I find them so cool. Casual yet stylish.

Rain glam

For something a bit dressier, I love capes. These booties from Zara - the one everybody's looking for - I actually own them and have been using them a lot during rainy days. It's a way to look a bit more glam but without compromising your feet's integrity. Do not be afraid to add a touch of color.

Rain Parka
And finally, a classic. Parka, jumper and chelsea boots. Walking in the rain never was so comfy and relaxed.

Finalmente, un clásico. Parka, jersey y botines chelsea.

How about you? What do you like to wear on rainy days?

¿Y a ustedes? ¿Qué les gusta ponerse para la lluvia?

Para Para Paradise

What a great concert. I will take many wonderful memories from it. Babaloo and I could not have been happier - a few cocktails pre-show to battle the cold weather maybe helped a little bit - and we just had a blast. I was so scared it would get canceled since I'd been talking about Murphy's law all weekend, and the crappy rain made me shiver for a while. Moreover, it also made me change my planning towards my outfit, of course, even though I was thinking of defying it and go barelegged. But hey, you can never go wrong with wellies on a concert, as Kate Moss has taught us in the past.

BTW, I have a MAJOR crush on Guy Berryman, the band's bassist. Guy, if you ever by some chance or miracle read my blog, please know this: I want to be your love slave.

Oh and please let me introduce you to Petra, the fun flask.
