For those who think young

Sometimes you don't even realize that you've already embraced a trend a while back and certain little treasures serve you as a reminder. I bought this skirt on my first visit to Primark in London years ago, and I liked it because it was shaped sort of like a tulip, my favorite flower. Now I know that it's not a tulip, it's "peplum" which was a killer trend on summer and will remain for autumn/winter. I crack myself up sometimes with the imagination of people in fashion and the sometimes pretentiousness behind it, sure, "peplum", "oxblood". To me it's tulip, but dare I say that instead of "peplum". Oh, the nerve. 

Like I mentioned on my previous peplum post HERE, I think this is a very ladylike trend so I like to tone it down a bit. And nothing tones something down like a retro Pepsi t-shirt. For those who think young (wink).

Algunas veces no te das cuenta que ya has caído en una tendencia hace un tiempo hasta que pequeños tesoros te sirven de recordatorio. Compré esta falda en mi primera visita al Primark de Londres hace años y me gustó porque para mis ojos tenía forma de tulipán, mi flor preferida. Hoy en día ya que se que no es tulipán sino "peplum", tendencia de verano que se mantiene para otoño/invierno. Me parto a veces con la imaginación de la gente de la moda y muchas veces el pijerío detrás de ello. Vale, "peplum" "oxblood". Para mi parece más tulipán, pero que ni se me ocurra decirlo en vez de "peplum". Oh, que atrevimiento.

Como mencioné en mi outfit "peplunístico" de AQUÍ creo que esta tendencia es muy formal y me gusta bajarle el tono un poco. Y nada da un bajón de tono como una camiseta retro de Pepsi. "Para los que piensan en joven" (guiño).

Used sneakers and bad drivers

I'm a really bad driver. Terrible, actually. I'm impatient, I do not follow rules and I love to speed. Not a good combination. That's why I decided not to renew my license here in Spain, since trust me, I could never survive with so many rules and signs and lines and... just basic manners and courtesy. The only thing that would make me change my mind is getting a Mini. I have a thing for that car, I think they're ever so cute! So it was impossible to resist myself when I saw this nice old green Mini parked right next to where I was taking the pictures. I had fun taking "sleezy girl meets car wash" pictures, which of course I will not post. 

Remember how I told you I went to Brick Lane and had a blast? Well, one of my favorite things that I got are these pair of used sneakers - not vintage, nowadays the word is used too lightly - which, luckily, were just the right size. Now, normally I wouldn't go for sneakers on a thrift store, but these I thought were special. After washing them and making sure they were not hazardous to my feet's health, it turns out I managed to keep the previous owner's message passed down to me: "'Sup!", which is written on the soles of the sneakers. Such a wise, profound and meaningful message should stay forever and ever and be shared with all mankind.

Soy una conductora mala. Terrible, de hecho. Impaciente, no sigo las reglas y me encanta acelerar. No es una buena combinación. Es por esto que decidí no renovar mi licencia en España, ya que nunca podría sobrevivir con tantas normas, señares, líneas... y bueno, modales y cortesía en general. Lo único que me haría cambiar de opinión sería comprarme un Mini. Me encantan, ¡me parecen tan bonitos! Es por esto que fue imposible resistirme cuando vi este verde tan mono aparcado justo al lado de donde hacía las fotos. Me he divertido tanto tomando fotos "a lo chica facilona en un lavado de coches", que, por supuesto no publicaré nunca.

¿Recuerdan cómo les conté que estuve por Brick Lane en Londres y me lo pasé genial? Pues una de las cosas favoritas que compré son estas zapatillas de segunda mano - no vintage, que muchos usan la palabra muy a la ligera - las cuales, por suerte, eran justo mi talla. Normalmente no me lanzaría con zapatos en una de estas tiendas, pero me parecieron tan especiales. Después de lavarlas para asegurar que no eran dañinas para la salud de mis piececitos, resulta que conseguí mantener el mensaje del antiguo dueño para mi, escrito con amor en la suelas: "Sup!" (abreviatura de "What's up!"). Que suerte, ya que un mensaje tan sabio, profundo y significativo debe preservarse por los siglos de los siglos y ser patrimonio de la humanidad.

¡Feliz viernes! Yo estoy como loca porque mañana veo a mi artista favorito, Juan Luis Guerra, y me hace toda la ilusión del mundo. Para los que estén en Madrid, si se animan, es por una causa genial.

#BringbackCheezBalls

Ok, nothing cheesy about my outfit - at least I don't think so - but I had a flashback of how much I used to love Planter's Cheez Balls. Artificial cheese was never more splendorous than on that concentrated little puff. I know sometimes I write the most random things... it probably doesn't help that posts are written during my long, insomniac nights. So I wonder, whatever happened to my beloved Cheez Balls? Is there some chance of getting the yummy leftover production on the European continent? Any Planter's heir out there I can woo to get this up and running again? Does anyone else remember the delicious feeling of popping the lid off and opening the foil seal? I don't know how I survived the intoxication of artificial coloring since I used to chase these with "purple" grape soda. 

Back to the pictures. White on summer, no rocket science here. I like this relaxed sort of boho look. Another Forever21 piece as the star, this lovely lace skirt, perfect for this summer and probably most to come since it's something I wear so often. God, I can't get the Cheez Balls out of my mind. Sorry. #Bringbackcheezballs.

Y bien, resulta que he tenido un recuerdo repentino de como solían encantarme las Cheez Balls de Planter's (para los que no las conocen, unas bolas de queso crujientes estilo Cheetos). Nunca un producto de queso artificial fue tan esplendoroso como esa inflada pelotita. Ya se que algunas veces digo las cosas más aleatorias... probablemente no ayuda que la mayoría de las entradas las escribo durante mis largas noches de insomnio. Así que me pregunto, ¿Qué será de mis adoradas Cheez Balls? ¿Hay alguna posibilidad de conseguir el producto restante en el continente europeo? ¿Algún heredero de Planter's anda suelto por ahí para que me ayude a restaurar esta maravilla? ¿Nadie recuerda esa sensación de abrir la lata y quitar el sello de aluminio? No se como sobreviví a la intoxicación de colorantes artificiales ya que solía acompañarlas de refresco "morado" de uva. 

Y volviendo a las fotos. El blanco en verano, nada de ingenio con eso. Me gusta este look relajado y algo boho. Otra prenda del Forever21 como estrella, la falda de encaje, perfecta para el verano y probablemente todos los que vengan ya que es algo que suelo usar mucho. Por Dios, no se me salen las Cheez Balls de la cabeza, lo siento. #Bringbackcheezballs.

30 never?

I like flashbacks and classics. And a classic for spring is the dress, denim jacket and boots combo. To me, it hits a very 90s note in my memory. It's fresh, comfy and very young. Almost like a 30 never effort. And this dress that I absolutely adore helps create that illusion.

It's finally Friday, I can't be happier, let's hope that I can get an exorcism of this crappy week. I was so excited about Saturday, planning to get my yellow post winter skin some sunlight, but apparently weather will not agree with me, as usual. Murphy's law. That's just my luck on this week from absolute hell. But... Sunday cannot possibly go wrong since my amazing Babaloo is treating me to Coldplay. So bring it, I can handle more crap next week after some Chris Martin.

Me gustan las retrospectivas y los clásicos. Y un clásico de primavera es el combo vestido, chaqueta denim y botas. Para mi tiene una nota muy noventera en mi memoria. Es fresco, cómodo y muy juvenil. Casi como un esfuerzo para la eterna veintena. Y este vestido que adoro ayuda a crear esa ilusión.

Por fin es viernes, no puedo estar más feliz. Espero que pueda exorcizarme de esta semana horrible. Estaba tan emocionada con planes de sábado para quitarme el amarillento post invierno y darle rayos de sol a mi piel, pero aparentemente el clima no va a colaborar, como es usual. Ley de Murphy. Si es que esa es sigue siendo mi suerte en esta semana del infierno. Pero... el domingo no me lo amarga nadie, ya que mi muy adorada Babaloo me invita a Coldplay. Así que a ver, que venga lo que sea, puedo con todo después de un poco de Chris Martin.

Ok, so we've been talking about trends, and we KNOW that this one, pastels and neon are totally dominating stores. I didn't think I was going to get so much into the tie dye phenomenon, but I have to confess I've succumbed. That's why I decided to write a little bit about it - even though everyone has talking about it - so we can get where the inspiration comes from.

Ok, al hablar de tendencias inmediatamente sabemos que esta, el pastel y el neón dominan las tiendas. No creí que me iba a meter en el fenómeno tie dye, pero tengo que confesar que he caído. Por eso he decido hacer un post acerca del tema, a pesar de que está más que tratado y así podemos ver de donde viene la inspiración.

Celebrities that like tie dye, LOVE tie dye. They stick to it like gum. Such as Kate Bosworth.

A las celebrities que les gusta el tie dye se les nota. Lo usan con frecuencia. Como Kate Bosworth.

Others like Olivia Palermo do it while keeping their elegant style. It's not simple since this is a very fresh, young and funky trend.

You can find many items that fit this trend. I myself like the denim tie dye better, and I confess I've bought both jeans and shorts (these last ones are my favorites, the Bershka ones with spikes shown below ).

Se pueden encontrar muchas prendas de esta tendencia. A mi particularmente me gusta más el tie dye denim y confieso que me he comprado tanto vaqueros como shorts (estos últimos son mis favoritos, los de Bershka que muestro abajo con tachuelas).

Off duty

When you don't know what to wear, stick to basics. The more you try to make something happen, the harder it gets. Do not overthink it. This always works. Always. So you go ahead with what's comfy and seems natural. Jeans, white shirt, jacket. I threw a poncho just in case.

I'm tired and slightly hungover from a wedding. Last one untill september! I'll be showing you some pictures of my outfit later this week. Now I'm gonna nap and dream of sandy beaches.

Cuando no sepas que ponerte, directo a los básicos. Mientras más intentes sacar un look, más difícil se hace. No lo pienses mucho. Eso siempre funciona. Así que elige algo cómodo y natural. Vaqueros, camisa blanca, chaqueta. Le puse un poncho por si acaso.

Estoy cansada y algo resacada de una boda que tuve ayer. ¡La última de este tramo hasta septiembre! Les enseñaré fotos de lo que llevaba esta semana. Mientras, me iré a dormir una siesta y soñar con la playita.

I turned around and the water was closing around me

Crazy, crazy weather! I was naive enough to put away my heavy coats. I should've known. It's been cold and windy with a lot of sporadic rain. Hot and cold like a Katy Perry relationship. However, that should not stop us from trying to brighten up our wardrobe. I've had these shorts waiting and I've finally had enough. I love shorts, have I mentioned that? I bet I have, forgive me. The color is so much brighter than shown, but it was so cloudy that you can't tell. I dunno if they are more minty or neon, but hey, two trends in one!  The cutest, smufette-y purple beanie tops off my wellies and safari jacket. Presto. Still, I can't wait to catch some sun rays on my yellow legs... and start wearing fresh white dresses.

Happy weekend, don't do anything I wouldn't do (that is a lot of margin! jaja)

Clima loco, loco. Fui tan ingenua de guardar mis abrigos grandes, cuando debí saber que hasta el 40 de mayo no te quites el sayo. Ha estado frío, con mucho viento y lluvias esporádicas. Caliente y frío como la canción de Katy Perry. De todas formas,  esto no debería evitar que intentemos alegrar algo nuestro armario. He tenido estos shorts esperando y por fin me cansé. Amo los shorts, ¿lo he dicho antes? Seguro que sí, lo siento. El color es más brillante pero no se nota en la foto por la poca luz del día nublado. Son entre un verde neón y un menta chillón... no se, dos tendencias en una. Con el gorro morado de Pitufina, mis botas de agua y una sahariana. Presto. Estoy ansiosa de que le de algo de sol a mis amarillentas piernucas.

¡Feliz finde! No hagan nada que yo no haría (eso es mucha licencia, ¡eh! jaja)
