Fatty mondays

Don't you just hate fatty mondays? A direct consequence of the major excess during crazy weekends. But no matter how bloated, you don't change that last gin & tonic for nothing. Detox day.

¡A desintoxicarse!

Noxzema Commercial

Back around when I was thirteen, all I wanted was for my life to be like a Noxzema commercial. I was living in the states when this face wash started to be all the rage, and we girls wouldn't dare to use anything else on our skin. Because if it made you look half as good as that Rebecca Gayheart or get you the hottie she wanted to date, then you struck gold. And for a minute, it seemed like it was going to work for me. One afternoon I was parading my Noxzema-clean face through a mall when a guy from a recruiting booth looking for the "new Noxzema girl" asked me if I wanted to audition. "Great skin, lovely ethnicity" I remember him saying. I wanted to rip out my curly scrunchied-pony tail of excitement, when my mother denied permission as we were in a hurry to leave. Oh well. My father would have never approved, I thought as I walked away, watching my dreams of being that fresh-faced girl on TV. Or getting the hottie. Amazing what marketing can do to a teenager.

More earthy tones, this is becoming an obsession. These pants from last year (they look like a skirt on certain pictures) make a strange aerodynamic effect on windy days.

Y yo feliz.

Kimonos

I can't write today. I have a life. Get over it. Just kidding! But seriously, my mind is blank. Could this mean that I can finally get some decent sleep? I love this kimono.

No puedo escribir hoy. Tengo cosas que hacer. Supérenlo. ¡Estoy bromeando!

I'm blue

I've mentioned it before. Growing up, I loved "Sleeping Beauty" and would watch it over and over. I actually ruined my tape (VHS, what an era) as it got tangled from excessive viewing and my parents had to buy a new one. There was special moment of interest for me and my sisters: The "make it pink, make it blue" scene. Me rooting for pink, obviously, and my sister Sabrina rooting for blue. We had our favorite colors pretty well established, and obviously being the eldest and her being the middle sister, we had to chose opposite positions. We argued forever which version of the dress made Aurora look better. It didn't fit my mind that anyone would chose blue over pink.

Well, years later, I finally caved and started liking blue. Particularly blue shirts. Boyish blue shirts. Striped, solid, you name it. Ironically, besides white, they are the most popular ones amongst my clothes. I love them with jeans and shorts. Perfectly casual. People can change their taste in colors, you see. However, green, do not get your hopes up. BTW, and I finally got my shoes! And don't you just love my new bracelets from Bolboreta?
